Hi! Welcome to our Porter Davis Cremorne 41. This site will follow the progress of our home from the start, through every stage until the end. We will try and include as many photos as we can along the way. Why do you care? You probably don't - unless you are building or thinking of building your own place, or unless you are one of our friends or relatives. Strap yourself in - it's going to be a long and bumpy ride!

Render

So - you thought that you wouldn't see another entry from us until after our PCI (which is tomorrow)? Wrong! Went for a stroll to the house this morning as we knew the render guys were hard at it yesterday.

We were a bit surprised that the house was open (garage door could be lifted, and then the internal access door was unlocked), so took a few inside shots. Not much has changed, so there will be lots to talk about tomorrow with SS.

Render colour is "Maudsland" (because we know you will ask...)

The finish on the render looks fantastic. Bagged and painted would have been cheaper, but the extra cost for the render is worth it.

From the front door - down to the rumpus room

Close up of the heater in the Family Room

Laundry - previous shots have had the basin covered

Render from the balcony. Tiling needs to be completed on the balcony floor

Mirror has been installed in the ensuite

We now have fly screens

This shot shows the drain hole for the balcony. Andy and Simone have one on each side. These houses are all the same - but different!

HTB - The colour was just for you! Ensuite still has some issues for us, but we will discuss with SS tomorrow. Certainly looks quite good now, but not perfect.

Petal - Don't listen to what I say about colours. I couldn't remember that far back, and I based it on another blog which had a colour of the same name - which was a grey colour (or was it?)

Hi Mike - looked everywhere for the mysterious missing bloke. Couldn't find him. Maybe he will turn up tomorrow... :-)

I was just sitting here pondering over your photos again. Just want to say that I think your house looks really nice. The ensuite colours are really lovely, it all blends in so well. Sorry to hear the ensuite is still giving you some grief though. And the laundry looks great too. Putting all things aside that need to be rectified, you must be pleased with how it's all come together. You'll be in soon. Well done :-)

LOVE the render colour. well done guys. And you're right about the bagged and painted vs render ... I wish we did some investigation about that before we started. Anyway ... here's me, 1 year on and still can't get over it!!!

Hope it goes well today ... can't wait to see the place with the flooring. It will make it look lovely and homely.

A house to be proud of.

Hi Perry

Render looks great, its worth the extra cost. Same colour as our front render, maulsland, however our portico is woodland grey. Yes its interesting how PD design the drain holes for a tiled balcony. Ours has lentals on both sides, and are wider.

Bear in mind, you have to wash the render to remove the water stains from time to time. Internally your house looks great. Like your fly screens. Were they expensive?

Good luck with your PCI. Dont spend too much time looking for paint defects, concentrate on the other issues. Ensure all your down pipes, and connections are painted and are dug into the ground deeper. Look for scratched glass, and demand it be replaced, as scratched glass cannot be fixed.

Let me know how u go.

Chat soon

Andy

HTB - Thanks for the compliments. Bernadette takes most of the credit for the colours, as you have probably worked out by now! The ensuite issue is something which I notice, but probably not noticed by anyone else, as are some of the other items in the house.

J&A - Perhaps M&M did the best thing of all and not go with either?

Andy - thanks for the tips. We ended up with a 3 page list....
